The québec minister of Justice, Sonia LeBel, expressed concern on Thursday by the “respect for our institutions” after the revelations of the ex-attorney general of Canada Jody Wilson-Raybould in the folder SNC-Lavalin.
Asked about the economic impact of the rout possible to the quebec firm SNC-Lavalin, Ms. LeBel said Thursday morning that she was ” rather concerned for the respect of our institutions.”
“If what is alleged is true, it is indeed worrisome that there has been pressure. And that, that worries me greatly, ” she said.
As to what would happen if Ms. LeBel was in the same situation, Ms. Wilson-Raybould, the minister of Justice has not wanted to make comments.
In addition to the folder that weighs about the company in federal, SNC-Lavalin faces new charges in connection with the contract for rehabilitation work on the Jacques-Cartier bridge in Montreal.
