Russian biathlete Alexander Loginov won the bronze medal in the sprint race at the first stage of the world Cup in Slovenian Pokljuka, reports TASS.
26-year-old Russian overcame the distance of 10 km without failures, but behind won the Norwegian Johannes boe 16.4 seconds. BAA made one mistake and came to the finish line in 23 minutes of 46.3 seconds. Second place was taken by Frenchman Antonin Gehenna (delay of 16.1 seconds; no misses).
Russian Evgeny Garanichev took the 22nd place (+1.08,2; 1), Matthew Elisha – 27-e (+1.15,3; 2), Eduard Latypov – 43rd (+1.42,2; 1), Dmitry Malyshko – 70 (+2.16,4; 3), Alexey Slepov – 76-e (+2.24,2; 4).
Loginov, the Russian team brought the first medal for the season. The next race on the world Cup in Pokljuka, women’s sprint will take place on Saturday. The world Cup will end on 9 December.
Loginov is a four-time European champion in the individual race (2017), pursuit (2017, 2018) and mixed relay (2017). Medal in the sprint is the second personal medal Loginova on the stages of the world Cup stage in Holmenkollen (Norway) in the 2012/13 season, the Russian has won bronze in the pursuit.
