Eric Adams Wants Rep. Tom Suozzi for Deputy Mayor – NBC New York

Eric Adams is beginning to put collectively his administration within the lead as much as his tenure at mayor of New York Metropolis.

The mayor-elect revealed at a Saturday press convention in Queens he’d spoken to Rep. Tom Suozzi “somehow trying to convince him to be a deputy mayor in my administration.”

The Lengthy Island congressman and present borough president of Brooklyn had been within the borough assembly with group members after a small group of rioters uprooted mailboxes and broken automobiles amid a Friday evening protest.

Suozzi, a former mayor of Glen Cove and county government for Nassau County, has represented New York’s third Congressional District since 2017.

“I am very flattered that the mayor-elect would like me to help him in a big way to tackle the challenges in New York City,” Suozzi told the NY Post in response to Adams’ revelation.

“It’s a testomony to our nice friendship and his confidence that I understand how to assist run a giant authorities, get issues completed and resolve issues. Heaps to consider over Thanksgiving,” he added.

Talking earlier this month on the outcomes of the election, Suozzi divulged he was “seriously considering” a run for governor of New York. He stated he is decide by the top of the month.
