Fire in Lincoln Square apartment leaves two people dead

Authorities are investigating the reason for a fireplace that left two people dead in Lincoln Square on Wednesday evening.

In accordance with police, at 11:35 p.m. on Nov. 10 officers responded to a 911 name relating to a residential hearth inside 216 West 62nd Avenue. FDNY personnel responded and obtained the hearth, which broke out in a 4th ground apartment, beneath management.

A 44-year-old man and 70-year-old lady had been discovered contained in the apartment shortly after. Paramedics declared each victims dead on the scene — their identities are being withheld pending household notification.

A preliminary investigation by the Fire Marshall believes that that fireside was not suspicious, nonetheless the investigation stays ongoing.
