The leader of the Coalition avenir Québec (CAQ), François Legault, will deliver a speech to flavor economic to Shawinigan on Sunday.

This speech will be followed by a media briefing with the journalists, and then a caucus with all of its candidates announced for upcoming elections.

On Saturday, the prime minister and leader of the Quebec liberal Party (PLQ), Philippe Couillard, announced that the election campaign will be triggered on the 23rd of August next. It will last 39 days, the maximum length provided for by the law.

François Legault will be meeting with its candidates, on Sunday, to ask them not to enter the game of the liberals and pq members, accusing them of conducting a pre-campaign negative.

It will focus on the need to carry out a campaign positive.

In addition, the head caquiste must present his economic vision for the province of Quebec. It will advocate for a greater efficiency of the State and to the fight against waste of public funds, as well as for the education, which remains, according to him, the best long-term investment for the economic development.

The place chosen is not a coincidence ; the CAQ’s desire to conquer the Region in the course of the election campaign, and snaps up its four districts, Laviolette — St-Maurice, Champlain, Maskinonge and Trois-Rivières. In the 2014 elections, the liberals had swept the five seats in the region. Since, the renewal of the electoral map has reduced this number to four by merging the districts of St-Maurice and Laviolette.
