New York Giants tight finish Evan Engram had fairly a brief, but eventful week.

After hauling in a landing reception of their Monday-night loss to the Kansas Metropolis Chiefs and remaining with the Giants by the commerce deadline, the 27-year-old offered the offensive spotlight of Week 9 for Huge Blue of their upset 23-16 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders.

On their opening drive, Engram climbed over the again of Raiders security Jonathan Abram to win a leap ball down the correct sideline from quarterback Daniel Jones for a 30-yard landing reception — his second in as many video games.

It was a reminder of the playmaking skills that Engram can carry to the place, although they’ve come few and much between in recent times.

Earlier this season, Giants followers at MetLife Stadium sarcastically cheered as Engram was pulled from a loss in opposition to the Atlanta Falcons after fumbling earlier in that Sept. 26 loss. On Sunday, they have been on their toes for the correct causes.

“It was cool, yeah,” Engram mentioned of his large second on Sunday. “Mainly, it really felt good just making a play for the team. We worked that play a lot this week and for it to come down and cash in, that was big. So it felt good.”

Engram’s title hasn’t been known as almost as a lot in recent times — whether or not that has to do along with his struggles discovering consistency in years previous or the acquisition of veteran Kyle Rudolph to the tight-end ranks. However the lighter workload appears to be benefitting the Ole Miss product.

In seven video games this season, Engram has caught 26 of 36 targets for 224 yards and a pair of touchdowns — already double the quantity he had final season. His catch fee of 72.2% is a career-best to this point.

With only a single drop this season, his drop fee of two.8% can also be a career-best. It’s a big step ahead in comparison with final 12 months when he dropped 11 passes amidst his 109 targets (10.1% drop fee).
