In Kazan opened Russia’s first monument to the famous ballet dancer Rudolf Nureyev. The ceremony was attended by top officials of Tatarstan, and the author of the sculpture was Zurab Tsereteli, TV channel “MIR 24”.
Tsereteli noted that he felt joy while working on the sculpture. “This is my heart cry. I love this unique city, which many times has been here. You have a good story, and it is necessary to raise the language of art,” said sculptor.
Rudolf Nureyev was in a professional ballet at the age of 15. Since 1993, with his permission, the festival of classical ballet began to wear his name.
