Police are investigating a shooting at a Brooklyn BJ’s retailer that left one man dead on Thursday evening.
Authorities say that at 10:14 p.m. on Aug. 4, police responded to a 911 name relating to a shooting in the parking lot/storage space of the shop, situated at 1752 Shore Parkway. Upon their arrival, officers discovered 19-year-old Dereck Chen with gunshot wounds to his face and shoulder.
Paramedics rushed the sufferer to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn, the place he was pronounced dead.
A firearm was recovered from the scene. An 18-year-old man was taken into custody shortly after the shooting, however no costs have been launched on the time of publication.
The investigation stays ongoing.
