State jazz orchestra of Armenia performed 80 years. Its founder Artemy Ayvazyan dedicated to the fourth annual international jazz festival, which is now in Yerevan, reports channel “MIR 24”.
The festival brought together musicians from the USA, France, Russia and other countries. A special guest was ten times winner of “Grammy” Cuban trumpeter Arturo Sandoval. On the opening day of the festival was the concert in which took part famous Armenian jazzman Levon Malkhasyan.
“Jazz is not changed. One of the translations of the jazz life. Life itself. It is variable, non-repetitive, momentary concretization of the event. It is required from the contractor. Jazz 1960 until now, has always been popular. Since 1960, I give concerts in Yerevan, in 50-60 years these halls were broken from jazz,” says jazz musician from Armenia.
The festival will last until November 20. On the day of its closure at the gala concert of the expected performance of the jazz orchestra of Oleg Lundstrem.
