The Greene Space Presents: Eunbi Kim in Residence: It Feels Like

Pianist and host Eunbi Kim’s intimate performances and adventurous collaborations transcend the boundaries of the piano recital. As Artist-in-Residence at The Greene Space this month, Kim presents It Feels Like. Over 4 evenings, Kim and buddies — cutting-edge musicians, writers, artists and extra — share nice music, scrumptious meals, deep dialog, some good jokes and even higher dance strikes. The sequence consists of two world-premiere performances of recent works by Angélica Negrón and Pauchi Sasaki.

Monday, Could 16 at 7 PM: IT FEELS LIKE MOM
On this interactive and intimate episode, Eunbi Kim and visitors bathe the viewers with reflections on motherhood starting from the madcap to the mournful. Kim performs the world premiere of Pauchi Sasaki’s Mom’s Hand, Therapeutic Hand with violinist Lauren Cauley and cellist Wick Simmons. Different visitors embrace the zany musical comedy duo Slanty Eyed Mama, and violinist, writer and mother Rebecca Fischer. Get tickets

Tuesday, Could 17 at 7 PM: IT FEELS LIKE HOME
Exploring common themes of immigration, household and meals, Kim and her visitors take the viewers on a journey from early childhood to blurry grownup recollections, ending with a rallying cry for private authenticity…and a few actually good flan. Wednesday, Could 18 at 7 PM: IT FEELS LIKE PLAY
Be part of pianist and host Eunbi Kim and visitors for a artistic play date. Hearken to the world premiere of Disco giratorio de palabras (Rotating Document of Phrases) and music performed on vegetation and robots by the composer Angélica Negrón, discover humor with comic and violist Isabel Hagen, and co-create an authentic dance with choreographer and DJ Mai Lê (LayeRhythm Experiment).
