In an announcement on Friday, Adams stated his administration filed an “emergency mutual aid request” with Gov. Kathy Hochul’s administration, in hopes of convincing the state to open the shelter starting this weekend.
The request comes as town took in additional than 3,100 asylum-seekers within the week of Jan. 2, together with 835 final Thursday, based on the mayor’s workplace.
